Songs of the Week

It wasn't until late Thursday night that I decided to do this post.  Really had no intentions of doing it again, but a late night in a situation that I'm all too familiar with arose.  80 GB iPod's battery being slowly drained as I listen to song after song.  I'm able to chill out and escape from everything for a little while when I lay down with my headphones on.  I've never been so good at turning off my brain, but keeping it occupied with music has always done the trick for me.

Songs of Summer 2012

Around a year ago, I did a post documenting the songs that defined my summer in 2011.  I thought it would be a cool thing to do another one for 2012 - now that summer is pretty much over.  Last year was a summer where I zoned in on a core group of songs and listened to them over and over again.  This year is a bit different. As you'll see in this post, I had quite a number of songs that stood out to me.  Different genres and artists, it's actually pretty diverse, which is kinda unique for me.  I think I prefer this summer's crop of songs over last year's.

Pretty fantastic Saturday for me, follows up a solid Friday as well.  No complaints from me lately.  Got to see Chernobyl Diaries, solid little flick, but nothing too special.  Afterwards got to hang out with two of my favorite people and had some pretty kick-ass conversations.  Between venting about annoying shit or channeling my inner mean girl and gossiping about stuff in my life, makes for some pretty fun nights in front of a fire pit.  Got Radiosurgery from one of my friends, the most recent New Found Glory CD, which I had not heard yet.  Can't lie, I fucking adore it.  I already know this won't be the last New Found Glory song to be featured as a song of the day in the near future.  Jordan Pundik is seriously one of my favorite singers.
