Since I was a little sprout, I have always been drawn to wrestling. The pageantry of it, the entertainment value, the humor, drama, & athletic showcases somehow captivate me. On Sunday, April 29, 2012, it all came full-circle for me, as I attended my first ever wrestling event. It's an understatement to say that it lived up to expectations, as it surpassed my wildest dreams. My thoughts leading up to the show were very much excited, but I wasn't expected to LOVE my experience as much as I did. I assumed I would go to the event, enjoy the show, & spend my time looking around at the crazy die-hards shouting & screaming, chanting their asses off. I figured I would chuckle as I sat there, subdued and enjoying myself. That's the type of fan I usually am, you don't really see me singing the National Anthem before a Bulls game or singing the 7th inning stretch in Wrigley, outside of some clapping along, I'm not prone to screaming "Let's go Hawks" at a Blackhawks game; I'm a quiet guy. For some reason at Extreme Rules, that all changed. I was one of those crazed fans, along with 2 of my friends, standing there cheering & chanting along with the tens of thousands of people. I'm glad I did, made the event all that much more memorable for me. Now then, the show itself, how was it? Well, I'll tell you!

Song of the Day
Plain White T's the band is from Chicago, which automatically makes them cool. I remember when this gem came out back in 2006 & I listened to it non-stop on Fuse, you know, back when Fuse was actually good. Saving the anti-Fuse rant for another day, I'll just go ahead & admit that I'll always dig this song. Not because the lyrics speak to me or any of that shit, I don't really relate to this song at all, I just think it's a good track.

Song of the Day
Quick! Ask me to name a song by Sherwood other than The Town That You Live In. Protip, I can't. Heck of a good song for me to know them by, though. Was walking home just now & it's a pretty chill & awesome song to listen to while walking through the night.

The 2011-12 Chicago Blackhawks
Last week, my beloved Chicago Blackhawks season ended abruptly, losing to the Phoenix Coyotes in game 6 of the opening round of the Western Conference Playoffs. It was a tough pill to swallow, but thinking about it sort of inspired me for a new idea. A year-in-review for my favorite teams & since the Blackhawks season is the first to end in the year 2012, I see no better time to start than now.
Song of the Day
The other day, I Tweeted about how much I love Mayday Parade. There's just something about this band that I can't get enough of, I guess I just relate. Personal connection is key when it comes to me & music. I suffer from a made-up disorder called Music A.D.D. I have troubles listening to one band for extended periods of time & often like to change songs in the middle of them because a new track has jumped into my cranium. If you told me to sit down & listen to one band for an extended period of time, there's only 2 bands that jump to mind that I'd be perfectly able to do so with. Obviously, Blink-182 is first & foremost, but then the 2nd band is admittedly, Mayday Parade. Bruised and Scarred is a song of theirs I discovered late last summer & I have been pretty obsessed with it ever since. I was walking around two days ago, early in the morning, & felt a desire to listen to some Mayday Parade; it then carried over to yesterday when I was talking a walk during the afternoon & put this song on instantly. It's been pretty rampant in my head ever since. Whether it be this version or the acoustic, it's definitely a song that I skip past on my iPod very rarely.

My Incredibly Underwhelming 2012 MLB Predictions
So yeah, I had begun writing out an obnoxiously long and detailed MLB predictions post, but life sorta happened. Stuff came up and my desire & motivation to write anything was shot. Kinda disappointed, because I do enjoy writing them a lot, it just got to the point where I just didn't want to do it. I figured at the very least, I could write a very short post documenting my predictions. Song(s) of the Day
Just heard Say Anything's new album, Anarchy, My Dear today for the first time and it's truly fantastic. It's the Say Anything I know and love and these are two of my favorite songs featured on the CD.
Admit It Again - Say Anything
When I'm dead, I'll rest. Admit it, you lecherous douche. You were listening to my band in 2004, though you claim you reared on The Stooges. Your entire facade is a line that you feed to anorexic actresses who would have laughed at your jacked-up Navajo haircut less than a decade ago. Don't wanna hear about how the latest Rihanna single is a post-modern masterpiece, stop punishing me. Fueled by a potent mixture of cocaine and latent insecurity. Defining your own self-worth by the opinion of a stupid website with Satan as its figurehead. Now you pass your pestilence on to your riddled and addled children. Well, my mother didn't raise no fool. God, my blood boils at the thought of you. Poser, die.
You'll never cut me down again and your crap reigns down.
I'm sure you're proud that you've usurped the popular kids table, you son of a, ahem, which means you've forfeited your dubious anti-cred by buying into your own inflated hype. And I don't define my enemies by the clothes they wear or the pretentious bands they like. It's about how you seek to control minds just to appease what you've always lacked.
You'll never have your say again, again, again, again. You'll never wield those words again. Caught up in it, so full of it.
Don't want nobody, don't need nobody but me. No ashtray-life, no ant-farm university. When I rid my skin and reveal my core, you'll see when I perpetrate your reverse lobotomy. You'll see. I'm all I wanna be, I'm all that I wanna be. I'm all I wanna be. Don't want nobody, don't need nobody but me.
Peace Out - Say Anything
Sometimes I feel a baby nipping softly at my heel. A reminder of how fat and scared you love to make me feel. A curse of such a fetching fraud without a soul to speak. Inspired thirty songs I could have written in my sleep. You snort a line of syphilis and run the marathon. Your mentally deficient friends just ask you what you're on. I may be shy and not reply to your scathing review, but I'd rather subsist on venom than abstain with you.
I'll be fine, sever this for all time. I'll laugh it off when this ends. You can just go get high with all of your dumb friends.
I was the kind to ask what wrong doing had injured Dahmer's pride or to excuse the junkie thief with diamonds in his eyes. But now I taste a righteous fury sparkling with hate. Well you'll diddle this earth up and think "Fetch mommy, it's too late." I'll bite your head off, spit it out, and let it plunge away. You and all your kind won't stamp your future on today. The beat thumps loud, you sweat it out and grind on them for drugs. You hug that pole like a firefighter falling in love.
Nsever another song, never another thought, never another song, not for you.
You were my crutch, now I've escaped your clutch. So how is that worms-eye view? I have grown two broad wings and now I'm above you.
Song of the Day
What's the deal with my brain? Why am I so obviously insane?
There's the pitch, slow and straight, all I have to do is swing and I'm a hero, but I'm a zero.
As they search the night for someone to hold onto and just pass through.
Tell me there's a logic out there, leading me to better prepare for the day that something really special might come. Tell me there's some hope for me, I don't wanna be lonely for the rest of my days on the Earth.

Song of the Day
"Time To Break Up"
I guess its only the men
Who get fucked now and again
We take our chicks to the mall,
We wait in parking stalls
And when we come home too late,
She's pissed that she had to wait
And my excuse not to call,
It never worked at all
Time to wake up
Where's your daughter?
Hurt's to break up,
She was stronger
All my friends say,
Please don't love her
What did i gain?
Now i miss her so
I used to hate the lipstick
It stained and tasted so sick
The pantyhose and the bras,
She threw on my guitars
Shit fuck i made a mistake,
I thought i needed a break
The truth is i'm such a dick,
It's broke and can't be fixed
Time to wake up
Where's your daughter?
Hurt's to break up,
She was stronger
All my friends say,
Please don't love her
What did i gain?
Now i miss her so
If you wanna call it a heartache,
Then i shouldn't regret those things, i miss her
If you want the pain to go away,
Better suck up your pride and admit you lost her
Let her go, move on, let her go, move on, let her go
Time to wake up
Where's your daughter?
Hurt's to break up,
She was stronger
All my friends say,
Please don't love her
What did i gain?
Now i miss her so
Move on, let her go, move on, let her go,
move on, let her go, move on, let her go
Who get fucked now and again
We take our chicks to the mall,
We wait in parking stalls
And when we come home too late,
She's pissed that she had to wait
And my excuse not to call,

Song of the Day
This track is the song of the day, again. It has been song of the day an inordinate number of times the past week or so, but I can't deny it. It's super catchy, I adore Mayday Parade. It just gets stuck in my head. Truth be told, I really love the lyrics a lot. I honestly wish they meant something to me on a personal level when I heard them. I want that more than anything.

Nice guys finish last, boys and girls.
You're the reason things have to change.
We're all choir boys at best.
When there's no one there to hear you, the music will listen

I'd rather spend an evening giving birth, than to see how your eyes are glued on everyone but the person you're talking to.

Song(s) of the Day
Do you grin inside? You're killing me.
Hoping for the best, just hoping nothing happens. A thousand clever lines unread on clever napkins. I will never ask if you don't even tell me. I know you well enough to know you never loved me.
