Song of the Day

     Between work, shoveling, & helping my brother out, Friday is gonna be a pretty busy day for me.  So here's the song of the day.  It was one of the songs of the day yesterday and has now been it 3 times.  Anywhere Else But Here is by far my favorite Simple Plan song.  It's got all the catchiness of any other Simple Plan song and fantastic lyrics to boot.  Definitely in one of those stagnant moods where I'm a bit tiresome of my every day repetitive life and wish I could get away.  Ah well.  I appreciate the fact that I've taught myself to live independently, otherwise some of these days would be a fuck of a lot tougher.  I've decided to completely embrace it, in fact, so we'll see what is in store for me over the foreseeable future.  I want to prove to myself how much tougher I have become and will actively try to maintain some of the New Year's resolutions I put on myself.  I think I'm going to be able to do so.  Some days will probably be tougher than others, but hell, that's life.  Goodness, when did I become such a cynic?

     It's TRIPLE THURSDAY!  So what do we get on Triple Thursday?  Well...FOUR songs of the day.  Ignoring the fact that none of that makes sense, we'll just appreciate the fact that I've never had 4 songs in one day be honored as songs of the day and here they are.  Even though I despise waking up in the cold to go to class early, I do love all the music I get to listen to during the commute.  If I had to choose the songiest song of the day, I'd say it was Anywhere Else But Here by Simple Plan.  The supporting players today are I Swear This Time I Mean It by Mayday Parade, Better than Sex by Halifax, & Nice Guys Finish Last by Green Day.  I have to say, I LOVE my Klipsch over-the-ears headphones I received for Christmas, definitely enhances my music listening time.  I adore music & all these amazing lyrics for having the ability to distract me from the bitter Chicago winter atmosphere while walking around with wet hair, a light hoody, a t-shirt & jeans.

Song of the Day

      Simple Plan has HOW MANY tallies?  Well color me surprised.  This is a blatant case of an outside influence helping impact the songs of the day, but I am more than okay with that.  Simple Plan is a really underrated band and while I may not love them like I do Blink-182, Say Anything, & A Day to Remember, they'll always be one of those 2nd tier bands for me.  I can't say I dislike any of their songs, they're extremely catchy and have a slew of fantastic lyrics.  Anywhere Else But Here is the song of the day, strictly because I had no track stand out to me all day and then 1 simple car ride later I had a tune running through my mind.  An extraordinary girl, the simple influence herself, pointed out to me that I enjoy a lot of songs off of Get Your Heart On! which is Simple Plan's newest album.  It may be my favorite album of theirs.  I will always respect Pierre & the boys for having the ability to mature, their sound & lyrics have grown since their debut album, No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls, which came out in 2002.  I can also say I've seen Simple Plan live and let me tell you....it is no picnic.  Simple Plan fan girls are...INSANE.  Hell of a memory though!
